The Matson Creek Gold mine has a rich history of gold mining using sluicing to recover the gold. With relatively low overburden 10 - 12 feet this was a quick and easy way of minng.

Even with all of the mining activity that has occurred on Matson Creek, there has never been an operation in the Matson Creek area that has utilized the latest technology in gold, heavy metal collection. For this reason, 40% - 80% of the gold was lost in the process of slucing!

With better mining technology the Matson Creek Gold mine still has nearly $1.5 Billion in gold to be recovered.

Access - The Matson Creek property is accessible via small aircraft and helicopter as well as via an overland road. An airstrip has been constructed adjacent to Matson Creek. It is approximately 100 miles from the Dawson Airport to this landing strip. A road has been constructed over a 56-mile distance from Sixtymile to the Matson Creek Claims. This road has been used for transporting equipment and supplies to Matson Creek.

Claims Status - All claims have been confirmed to be in good standing as of September 28, 2007 by the Yukon Mines and Energy Resources and most of the claims assessment fees have been paid in advance for (+) 40 years. Three groups of claims will have annual assessment fees due in 13 - 14 years from present. The annual claims renewal fee is $10.00 CAN per claim per year.

Water License & Mining Permits - In March 2005, The Matson Creek Gold Mine was issued a 10 year Water Usage License and Land Use (Mining Permit) these permits will allow for simultaneously operating 3 ea. 200-300 yd./hr., gold recovery systems on the Matson Creek Gold Mine Claims.
