These old patented claims have been for the most part untouched for nearly 100 years. The owner wished to lease the claims for a small annual lease payment plus a 5% GSR royalty on all mineral production.

There are a variety of old workings and small tailings piles throughout all of the claims. According to Bulletin 10 of the 'New Mexico Bureau of Mines and Mineral Resources', the ore deposits of this area were primarily vein deposits of gold, silver, and copper. Even in 1934 when this report was written it states, "With improved methods of mining and milling and cheaper transportation, it should be possible to reopen some of these older mines and work them at a profit." Keep in mind this was written when gold was about $30 per ounce and silver was about 30¢ an ounce!

Each claim group is behind locked gates and less than 1/4 mile of a paved road.
